Where is Stonehammer we are often asked. Stonehammer is in many different locations that we call “geosites” in Southern New Brunswick. Our geosites have exceptional, accessible and inspiring geological heritage and we tell a different story at each geosite. For example, did you know that the first documented Precambrian “Stromatolite” in the world is right here in Stonehammer? How about visiting Africa and South America without leaving Saint John? Most people know we have the Highest Tides in the world here, but did you realize that this is a geological story? The earth beneath our feet and the outcrops around us tell many stories and geosite focuses on one (even though each could tell many!).

And remember, while #StonehammerRocks, there are many stories relatable to geology about people and our history — the geology influenced where folks settled. Visit each geosite virtually below and then decide which story you want to explore and learn more about first!
