River Relics Kayaking Adventure
Enjoy a guided kayak adventure along the shores of the historic St. John River and experience the “Rocks of Ages”. The shore line echoes with ghosts of “River Relics”. Paddle an Ice Age river where 15,000 years ago the last glacier forced the river to find a new route over the rock ridges at Reversing Falls Rapids to create this gorge. Experience the history of a Lime stone quarry with over 850 million year old marble and the first documented Precambrian fossil (Stromatolites) described in scientific literature. Photo opportunities abound as you pause to view an historic lighthouse and local wildlife, including an active bald eagles nest.
